Flower Power – Bullet Journal

Most people love flowers.  Some love flowers more than others.  The technique at the end of this blog will take flower lovers of any level to new heights.  The 1960’s activists may have been onto something with their “flower power” for peace.

Rutgers University recently conducted a 10-month behavioral study that explored the link between flowers and life satisfaction.  Their findings show that flowers are a natural moderator of moods and have positive effects on emotional health.  Here is a link for more on that study. Journal Goals, Live Goals

see the light by journalingWe are coming up on the first of 2018.  I posted this same content on my blog last year and, here we are again.  As usual, you probably are beginning to gather up in your mind the goals for the upcoming year and beyond.  In the book, Write It Down, Make It Happen, Henriette Anne Klauser, writes that “life is a decision”.   With 60 plus years under my belt, I can say it is true.  The focus of this blog, Journal Goals, Live Goals, will give you some tools to begin.

I would like to recommend that you begin journaling now to bring clarity to your 2018 goals.  Taking the time to really dwell on your goals will deepen the impact of the result.  Just because we write something down, doesn’t mean it is going to happen.  Yes, it does get the subconscious moving and synchronicities will start to happen, but along the way, we may have blocks and jam ups.  Planning for those blocks ahead of time will make the goal more attainable.

Sticky Note Journaling Week 7 – The Finale

Congratulations, if you are reading this, there is a good chance you participated in the entire Sticky Note Journaling Series.  The purpose of these weekly exercises was to introduce you slowly to journaling.  I hope you realized that this practice doesn’t have to take a lot of your time.   Journaling isn’t just about writing.  It can open up your life with just 5 minutes per day.   It is “your” time.  I would love to hear some feedback on your experiences the past 6 weeks.

This week, each day choose one of the 6-week topics that touched you.  Then, expand on the theme for five minutes.  You’ll need a bigger piece of paper for this or several sticky notes.  Set a timer, if necessary. When you journal about a topic, if you ask yourself who, what, where, why, and when, you will have enough material to fill a piece of paper.

The themes for the previous weeks were gratitude, life goals, happiness, forgiveness, random thoughts, and friendship.

Have fun with this week’s journaling.  The past six weeks have been practice for you since my new book will be coming out soon.  The title is JOURNAL OUR WAY TO A PEACEFUL WORLD.

Sticky Note Journaling Week 6 – Communicate

“Communicate” is the theme of week 6 in the Sticky Note Journaling Series.   Do you call your friends on a regular basis?  Or, do you reach out via text, email, or message on Facebook?  Do you find out what your friends are up to by checking their Facebook page?   Each day this week write one or more name(s)  of someone you haven’t spoken to for way too long on a sticky note.  It doesn’t mean you need to contact them, just write their names.  By the end of the week, you could potentially have 7 friends you might contact soon.  It can be a childhood friend or someone you met last week.

Importance of Friendships

Friendships are voluntary.  There is no structure like a family relationship.  Friendships also change as life moves on.   Surveys show that maintaining friendships is important to your happiness.  Check out this article in The Atlantic, How Friendships Change in Adulthood.

You can choose to keep the sticky note or tear it to shreds.
