First, let’s talk about the health benefits. Singing 1) strengthens the immune system, 2) is actually a workout for your lungs and diaphragm, 3) improves posture, 4) can increase aerobic capacity and stamina, 5) helps you sleep better, 6) is a natural anti-depressant and lowers stress levels, 7) improves mental alertness, and 8) widens your circle of friends if you sing together.
If you believe that we are all energetically connected to each other in this universe and what I do impacts you, and my neighbor down the street, then check out this list of benefits from humming. Humming has the same health benefits plus it 1) puts a smile on your face, 2) promotes positive thinking, 3) is very meditative because it reduces the number of thoughts in your head, 4) creates a special circle of energy in your body, and 5) calms your nervous system.
Sing or hum your favorite tune. After you are finished, journal about how you felt immediately after your debut.
